Artists' Wellbeing
“As artists, we must learn to be self-nourishing. We must become alert enough to consciously replenish our creative resources, as we draw on them.”

The life of an artist/creative is never easy. Unpredictable schedules, financial challenges, and frequent rejection are just some of the struggles actors and artists know well. Prior to working in mental health, I was an actor throughout my childhood and into my adulthood. This was going to be my path. But a change of plans led me to a different, yet wildly fulfilling career as a psychotherapist. My time as an actor has never left me and I have always been drawn to helping those in the creative world.
My work in both the performing arts and mental health has given me a unique perspective on what artists go through. How do you take care of your mental health in such a demanding profession? For actors, how can you take space from a role that is triggering? Does healing from the past actually hurt your creativity? I help people in the arts answer these questions by finding balance between honoring their wellbeing and embracing their identity as an artist.

Consultation and Counseling For Triggering Work
Artists are taught to use their pain and channel it into their work: use your experience and immerse yourself in a role. But what happens when this becomes too much? What does an actor do if they are struggling to get out of character? Perhaps you have a trauma history and worry about being
re-traumatized.
I work with artists who are undertaking challenging projects and want to be mindful of their mental health. I'll help you deliver great work while maintaining control, honoring your history and strengthening your healing.

On-Set Support for Film and Television

Film and television has the incredible ability to connect with audiences. Many of us can name movies or TV shows that changed our lives. Given this ability, it is no wonder film and television sets can be such high pressure settings. Like at any other high stress workplace, mental health clinicians can make a difference.
I offer on-set support to help film and television crews manage this pressure. I am available for on-set counseling for both crew members and actors. As a trauma therapist, I help actors process roles and scenes that are distressing and triggering. Additionally, I am available as a consultant for projects involving mental health and trauma.
