Frequently Asked Questions
I’m interested in working with you—what’s the first step?
Wonderful! Please visit my Appointment Request page to get started. I’ll be in touch within 24 hours to schedule a complimentary phone consultation. If I’m currently full, I’ll offer to place you on my waitlist and keep you updated.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
Both. In-person sessions take place at my office in Boonton, NJ. I also offer virtual appointments for residents of New Jersey and New York. (Please note: I do not currently have an office location in New York.)
How long are sessions?
Your initial intake session is 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 50 minutes.
How often should I come to therapy?
We’ll decide together what works best. Weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning to build momentum and rapport, but I understand schedules and financial needs vary. I typically don’t recommend monthly sessions until we’ve made clinical progress and have an established rhythm.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes—I’m an in-network provider with Aetna. For other insurance plans, I’m happy to provide a superbill to support reimbursement.
I have Aetna—what will my session cost be?
Rates depend on your specific plan. You can create an account with Headway (my billing partner), who will verify your benefits and confirm your out-of-pocket costs.
I’m not located in NJ or NY—can I still work with you virtually?
Unfortunately, due to licensing regulations, I can only offer therapy to residents physically located in New Jersey or New York.
Do you work with children, teens, couples, or families?
My clinical work focuses on individual therapy with adults. Clients sometimes invite a loved one to a session, but ongoing couples or family therapy is outside my scope—I’m happy to refer you to trusted providers if needed.
Do you offer consultation or speaking engagements?
Yes! I offer workshops, presentations, and consultation services through both my private practice and my organization, Artists' Ally. Whether you're seeking a talk on mindfulness, trauma recovery, creative wellbeing, or mental health in the arts, I’d be happy to tailor something to your audience’s needs. Please reach out to explore potential collaborations or programming.
Can I work with you even if I’m not in the entertainment industry or a creative field?
Absolutely. While I specialize in supporting creatives, performers, and LGBTQIA+ clients, many of the tools I use—trauma-informed care, EMDR, mindfulness, somatic practices—are relevant for a wide range of individuals.
What happens during the phone consultation?
It’s a chance for us to briefly connect, explore what you’re hoping to work on, and determine if we’re a good fit. You’re welcome to ask any questions about my approach and services.
I am happy to answer any more questions you have about working together and your individual treatment goals. Please contact me to learn more!
