EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most powerful therapeutic interventions I've encountered. I’ve seen clients shift through deeply distressing experiences in ways that felt impossible before—and often in less time than expected. What makes EMDR stand out is its clear structure: it’s goal-oriented and focused, yet profoundly holistic. It honors the full spectrum of healing—mind, body, and emotion.

So, what is EMDR, exactly? When we experience something upsetting or traumatic, it can become "stuck"—a memory that carries a charge, lives in the body, and influences how we see ourselves or the world. These are called maladaptive memories. For example, someone who was bullied might struggle with self-esteem long after the bullying has stopped. EMDR helps us gently revisit those moments and reprocess them using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or hand buzzers. Over time, the emotional charge begins to fade. The memory remains—but without the sting. It becomes part of your past, not something that hijacks your present.

If you’re wondering, “What if I don’t have big trauma?”—EMDR can still be incredibly effective. It’s useful for a wide range of experiences: anxiety, limiting beliefs, creative blocks, medical trauma, and more. You don't need to have a single defining trauma to benefit.

This work is collaborative, paced to your readiness, and tailored to your needs. I’m here to support your healing, whatever shape it takes.

What EMDR Can Support

EMDR is a versatile therapy that can help with:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Low self-esteem and limiting beliefs
  • Shame and guilt
  • Grief and loss
  • Phobias and specific fears
  • Performance anxiety and creative blocks
  • Attachment wounds and relationship difficulties
  • Medical or birth trauma
  • Impact of bullying, abuse, or neglect
  • Identity-based trauma (e.g. LGBTQIA+ stressors or discrimination)
  • Moral injury and vicarious trauma
  • Life transitions, overwhelm, or feeling “stuck”

Whether the trauma is complex, longstanding, or subtle but persistent, EMDR can help bring clarity, calm, and self-trust back online.
